Labour ‘Open’ to EU Courts Retaining Power over UK After Brexit

The Labour Party is open to allowing the European Court of Justice (ECJ) to retain power over the UK after Britain leaves the European Union (EU), the shadow Brexit secretary has said.

Sir Keir Starmer said he did not want to “rule… out altogether” the court retaining its jurisdiction over a supposedly independent Britain, which he said would not be a betrail of the referendum result.

With the UK outside the bloc and unable to influence the laws enforced by the court, the potential arrangement has been described as a form of “colonialism” by legal experts and leading Tory MP Jacob Rees-Mogg.

Just last week, an EU official taunted the UK, claiming the nation will become a “colony” of the EU after 2019, after Tory Brexit secretary David Davis admitted the withdrawal agreement will “probably favour” the EU.

EU Uses Sleazy Negotiating Tactics To Extort More Cash In Brexit Talks

We suspect that if the UK offers something approaching 60 billion euros, rather than the 40 billion euros it wanted to pay, the Irish border issue and others would magically melt away. May and Davis might see this as a price worth paying to stop having to be nice to the likes of Juncker and Barnier. They can watch calmly when a large German, French or Italian bank needs bailing out.

Chipotle Tumbles: “Supergirl” Actor Says He “Almost Died” After Eating At Burrito Chain

“I know I’ve advocated for [Chipotle] in the past, but they’re terrible,” said Supergirl actor Jeremy Jordan, who looked pale laying in a hospital bed and showing viewers the IV in his arm, and claimed he “almost died” after eating at Chipotle.

“I know I’ve advocated for them in the past, but they’re terrible,” says Jordan, who looks fairly pale laying in a hospital bed and showing viewers the IV in his arm.

“I, as you can see, am in the hospital and I have fluids in my arm because the food did not agree with me and I almost died…. I just want to thank my wife for being amazing and talking me off the ledge when I was on the phone about to die and Chris Wood for holding my hair back metaphorically,” he says. “I love all of you; thank you so much. It’s been a night.”

Two survivors of Muslim child rape gangs have said that groomers are still abusing young girls in Rotherham.

Linzi Williams and Natalie Fuller, who have been best friends since childhood, waived their anonymity to speak to Channel 4 about being groomed and raped as children.

Ms. Williams was 15 when she was abused by Arshid “Ash” Hussain, but thought she was having a normal boyfriend-girlfriend relationship as she had never been out with anyone before.

After falling pregnant by her abuser and having an abortion, Ms. Williams told Channel 4 that the childhood trauma affected her ability to trust people and she now suffers from attachment problems.

“At one minute I thought I wanted to keep it, because I thought, ‘Oh, he’s going to be with me and everything’s going to be fine.’ Obviously, it wouldn’t have been,” Ms. Williams said

Christian Teacher Suspended for ‘Misgendering’ Pupil

A  teacher has been suspended and could lose his job after allegations he referred to a pupil who was born female, but “self-identifies” as a boy, as a girl.

A complaint was made against Joshua Sutcliffe, a Christian who teaches at a British state secondary school, after he said, “Well done girls” to the pupil and her friend in class, when he saw the pair working hard.

The maths teacher apologised when “corrected” by the pupil, and thought no more about the incident until six weeks later, according to The Mail on Sunday, when he was called to the head’s office and told he was suspended from teaching while the Oxfordshire school investigates a “transgender complaint” made against him.

Mr Sutcliffe is to appear at a formal disciplinary hearing this week to face misconduct charges, after a week-long investigation found him guilty of “misgendering” the teenager, “demonstrating discriminatory behaviours” and having “contravene[d] the school’s equality policy”.
